Honda and Nissan have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to explore merging into a single new holding company.
A committee will be formed to plan the merger, including integrating vehicle platforms, R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and human resources.
The timeline envisions a definitive agreement by June 2025 and approval by shareholders in April 2026.
The new company, if approved, would create a major automotive conglomerate, but details are still in the early stages.
