Jack Dorsey, Twitter and Block cofounder, had a rigorous routine that included meditation, 7-minute workouts, and making to-do lists.
Even with 18-hour days, Dorsey emphasized consistency with his routine, starting his day at 5 a.m. and ending at 11 p.m.
His routine involved morning meditation, followed by seven-minute workouts using a routine from The New York Times.
Dorsey increased his morning meditation time to an hour in 2019 and adjusted his wake-up time to 6:15 a.m.
Before the pandemic, he used to attend 10-day silent meditation retreats annually, where no speaking or phone use was allowed.
Dorsey's routine included a morning lemon juice and Himalayan salt drink, a five-mile walk to Twitter's office, and splitting his time between Twitter and Square (now Block).
He categorized his days based on themes for managing both companies efficiently and incorporated fasting into his eating habits.
Dorsey revealed that he eats one meal a day around 6:30 p.m. and follows a strict schedule of daily sauna and ice baths.
Apart from making to-do lists, he emphasized noting down what not to do in a day to stay focused on small, repeatable goals for building momentum.
His current daily to-do list includes studying quantum physics, Italian language, and programming to tackle the challenging tasks in the morning.
