Amazon has acquired the rights to the James Bond franchise, leading to speculations of potential spinoff TV shows.
Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, the long-time stewards of the Bond film franchise, sold out to Amazon partially due to their reluctance to commit to a Bond TV series.
According to sources, Amazon approached the Bond franchise owners with ideas for spinoff shows based on Moneypenny and Felix Leiter, as well as a series involving a female 007.
This move opens up the possibility of expanding the 007 universe on television, which has mainly been explored in books in the past.
