Longtime James Bond casting director Debbie McWilliams has expressed concerns over the future of the franchise, particularly in regards to casting decisions and the tone of the films.
McWilliams, who worked on 13 Bond films and was involved in casting for over three decades, emphasized the importance of not messing with the essence of Bond and potentially alienating the audience.
She criticized Amazon's recent tweet about crowdsourcing the next Bond actor, stating that choosing the right actor for the role is a significant task, not one to be left to subscribers of a service.
McWilliams' retirement was planned before the announcement that the Broccoli family would hand over control of the franchise to Amazon.
