Japan's Fair Trade Commission has reportedly sent a cease-and-desist order to Google Japan, accusing the company of forcing smartphone manufacturers to include the Google search app on their devices.
The order accuses Google of compelling manufacturers to preinstall the Google search app and have it located in a specific position on the device's screen in order to access the Google Play store app.
It is also alleged that Google agreed to pay portions of ad revenue to manufacturers if they exclusively preinstall the Google search app.
Google has vowed to fight the accusations and claims to have presented arguments in the hearing process.
