Japanese sculptor Yozan Miura combines Buddhist traditions with modern technology by using drones to create three-dimensional Buddha statues.
Yozan, a former salaryman, became a sculptor after being inspired by the beauty of Buddha statues in Kyoto's temples.
He uses 3D printers to create lightweight resin Buddha statues, covers them in lacquer and gold leaf, and attaches them to drones.
The flying Buddha statues allow people at home or in temples to experience the Japanese Buddhist belief in Raigō, the escorting of souls to the heavens.
