Tokyo-based firm Metaplanet has acquired a total of 13,350 Bitcoin, surpassing high-profile holders like Tesla and Galaxy Digital, aiming to control 1% of the entire Bitcoin supply by 2027.
Metaplanet has been aggressively buying Bitcoin, acquiring around 10,000 BTC in the past three months, with plans to own 210,000 BTC.
The firm issued bonds worth $208 million to fund its Bitcoin buying strategy and refinancing earlier debt, with CEO Simon Gerovich leading the strategic expansion.
Metaplanet's stock price surged over 10% to 1,633 JPY as investors take note of its crypto-heavy strategy, positioning the company as a central player in the digital asset ecosystem.
