Jay Leno recently explored a $9 million Mercedes-Benz 'Gullwing' barnfind, an unrestored 1955 alloy model in his garage.
Mercedes only made 29 300 SL coupes with aluminum bodies between 1954-57, making these models much lighter and more powerful.
The Alloy Gullwing featured special attributes like a fuel-injected straight-six engine, sports suspension, Rudge knock-off wheels, and Plexiglas rear window.
Originally owned by Luigi Chinetti, this rare Gullwing was bought in 1976 for $30,000 and sold for $9,355,000 at RM Sotheby’s last year.
