Jammu railway division has registered its first VP indent to transport cherries from Katra railway station to Bandra (Mumbai) on June 3.This initiative aims to reduce road traffic burden and ensure perishable goods like cherries reach markets with minimal damage.A 24-ton cargo will be transported in a VP attached to a goods train, reaching Bandra station in Mumbai from Katra station in 30 hours.The initiative is expected to benefit both railways and fruit growers, ultimately boosting the economy of the Jammu and Kashmir region.
