K2 Space plans to fly its extra-large satellite for the first time in 2026.The startup is banking on the assumption that launch costs will continue to drop as heavy-lift vehicles like SpaceX's Starship become operational.The satellite mission, called Gravitas, will carry Department of Defence payloads under a $60 million contract.K2 Space is focused on creating large spacecraft at a low cost with lead times of less than three months.
