KG Mobility, formerly known as SsangYong, has partnered with Pindad, a state-owned company in Indonesia, for a joint development project focusing on a national car and electric buses.
The collaboration aims to expand the local assembly sales of Rexton SUV and electric buses in Indonesia, with a target of producing up to 200,000 units.
KGM has a history of similar partnerships, including a recent MoU with a state-owned enterprise in Peru for official vehicle supply and technical cooperation.
The Rexton SUV, now under KG Mobility, features a 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine with 202 PS, and the company has also partnered with Chery for developing mid-to-large SUVs for global markets.
