Masahiro Sakurai, the original director of Kirby Air Ride, is returning to lead the development of its sequel for the Switch 2.
Kirby Air Riders is a four-player racing game where players control different-colored versions of Kirby and can unlock characters like Meta Knight and King Dedede.
The game features simplified controls with automatic forward movement and focuses on steering, boosting, and using Kirby's unique ability to absorb enemies.
Kirby Air Riders is expected to release on the Switch 2 in 2025, after the console's launch on June 5th, and will be part of a series of GameCube throwbacks for the Switch 2.
