Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has received two out of 10 Electric Train Service (ETS) train sets worth RM400 million, set to be operational next year.
The new ETS train sets are undergoing testing and commissioning to enhance the quality and capacity of the ETS service, aiming to cater to the growing passenger numbers and satisfaction.
With the upcoming Gemas-Johor Bahru route launch, KTMB plans to expand ETS services to new destinations like Butterworth and Padang Besar.
The introduction of the new, third-generation ETS train sets will bring improved services to passengers, with the arrival of the first set in Malaysia in April this year.
