The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) has announced the implementation of a drone program to enhance public safety.The LVMPD has acquired a fleet of five different drone models, all made in the USA, to be operated by a dedicated team of officers.The drones will be used to provide situational awareness, answer emergency calls, and prevent officer-involved shootings.The LVMPD has already completed over 8,000 drone flights during testing, and the program aims to evolve with technology for future innovative uses.
