Amit Jaglan, an IIT Guwahati graduate and Urban Company executive, sparked a debate by suggesting youngsters leave software engineering for lehenga businesses in Chandni Chowk.
In a post shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) last week, Jaglan said he saw expensive lehengas selling like hot cakes at Chandni Chowk. “One advice: Leave your software job and just sell lehngas,” he tweeted. “I am at a loss of words. Lehngas north of 1 lakh rupees flying off the counters,” Jaglan added.
His views were criticized by several people. “Getting into software is way easier than getting into the Lehenga business in any serious way,” said one user.
