Dan Riccio, a longtime Apple executive and hardware engineering chief, is retiring later this month after a 26-year tenure with the company.
Riccio oversaw Apple's push into mixed-reality headsets and his Vision Products Group will now be under the responsibility of John Ternus, Apple's hardware boss.
During his tenure, Riccio played a significant role in the development of Apple's major products such as AirPods, iPad Pro, and large-screen iPhones.
His retirement marks one of the most significant departures from Apple's management team.
