The Hengqin Culture & Art Complex, designed by Yunchao Xu/Atelier Apeiron, is a cultural landmark in Hengqin, Zhuhai, China's fastest-growing region.
It aims to become a center for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and is strategically located at the crossroads of the Pearl River and South China.
The complex overcame challenges of typhoon resistance and stabilizing foundations on the island’s silt layer.
It features three large arches that act as gateways to different halls, allowing natural light to enter the space, and houses a library, concert hall, art gallery, and activity centers.
