BMW leadership has admitted that producing a supercar is currently not a priority due to high costs and focus on electrification and performance M vehicles.
BMW stated they are always looking into the possibility of developing a supercar in the future but building a supercar isn't at the top of the priority list at the moment.
With the exception of the mid-engined M1, BMW hasn't attempted a true supercar, with models like the i8 and M8 Competition Coupe falling more into design concepts or high-performance luxury categories.
Building a supercar would require significant investment in bespoke parts, and while BMW has seen success with limited-run models, they may need to consider the practicality and market fit for such a high-end vehicle.
