Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo expects the M5 series of chips to be used in future Macs and Apple Intelligence servers.
Mass production of the standard M5 chip is expected to begin in the first half of 2025, followed by the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips in the second half of the year.
The M5 Ultra chip is projected to enter mass production in 2026.
M5 Macs are likely to launch in a similar order as M4 Macs, with MacBook Pro expected in October 2025, MacBook Air in the first half of 2026, and Mac Studio and Mac Pro later in 2026 or 2027.
