Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) delivers performance-based bonuses of up to 2.5 months’ salary to its 13,000 employees, down from last year's six-month bonus.
The Group faced a financial downturn with an 18% drop in flight capacity in the final quarter, resulting in 6,388 cancelled flights affecting around one million passengers.
Despite expecting a loss, the Group stayed profitable due to a RM426 million reversal of asset impairments from the COVID-19 period, with revenue slipping one percent to RM13.68 billion.
Cash reserves fell to RM3 billion from RM4.3 billion, but MAG did not require additional funds from its main shareholder, having utilized RM1.3 billion of a RM3.6 billion support package.
