Malaysia remains committed to establishing 10,000 EV charging stations nationwide by the end of 2025, according to deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
As of December 31, 2024, the country had 3,611 EV charging bays in its public EV charging network.
Challenges exist in meeting the demand for DC chargers over AC ones, with efforts being made to address this issue.
The original plan outlined 9,000 AC and 1,000 DC public chargers, but the government revised the DC allocation to 1,500 units.
