The Malaysian Transport Ministry is open to a reassessment of motorcycle e-hailing services.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke is willing to listen to requests from operators and consider conducting a proof of concept (POC) for motorcycle e-hailing.
The culture in Malaysia is not particularly inclined toward using e-hailing motorcycles, but the minister is open to the idea if the POC is successful.
Previously, motorcycle e-hailing was trialed in Malaysia in 2019, but was later withdrawn due to concerns over the death rate for motorcyclists and pillions.
