<ul><li>Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu has taken steps to introduce India's Unified Payments Interface (UPI) in the country.</li><li>The introduction of UPI is expected to bring significant benefits to the Maldivian economy, including increased financial inclusion and improved efficiency in financial transactions.</li><li>A consortium has been set up and TradeNet Maldives Corporation Limited has been appointed as its leading agency.</li><li>The agreement to introduce UPI was signed during External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar's visit to Maldives in August.</li></ul>
