A 27-year-old man from East Melbourne was arrested for driving a stolen Toyota LandCruiser through Melbourne's Northland shopping centre while trying to evade police.
The man allegedly crashed through the shopping centre after security notified police about the stolen vehicle.
Despite attempts by the police to block him in, the driver managed to evade them by driving through the shopping centre.
Footage captured by onlookers showed shoppers running to safety as the vehicle sped through the mall. One person was treated for shock.
The stolen vehicle was later found dumped in Northcote by the police.
Victoria Police revealed that the LandCruiser was stolen on June 2 from an address in Ivanhoe East using an electronic key reprogramming tool.
