Mazda Motor Corporation has agreed to adopt Tesla's North American Charging Standard (NACS) for its electric vehicles in Japan starting from 2027.
Mazda's decision to adopt NACS is aimed at providing more convenience to its customers by offering access to Tesla Superchargers across Japan.
This move by Mazda follows other Japanese automakers like Sony Honda Mobility who have also adopted NACS for their electric vehicles, with AFEELA EVs expected to enter the market in the United States and later in Japan.
Tesla's Director of Charging, Max de Zegher, praised Mazda's adoption of NACS, stating that it is likely to become the standard not only in Japan but also in other countries, as NACS gains wider acceptance among electric car manufacturers.
