McLaren Automotive will merge with British start-up firm Forseven following the acquisition of the British supercar maker by Abu Dhabi government-owned investment firm CYVN Holdings.
The merger results in the formation of McLaren Group Holdings, with Forseven CEO Nick Collins becoming the CEO of the newly-formed company.
The plan is to expand McLaren's product range with models at higher price points and focus on both electric and internal combustion engine units.
McLaren facilities in Woking and Yorkshire will be retained, and the companies will be integrated with no immediate job cuts. Future plans for production locations are yet to be disclosed.
