A team from Brigham Young University measured the sound produced during SpaceX's Starship fifth test flight and compared it to other launch vehicles.
Measurements were taken at distances ranging from 10 to 35 kilometers.
The sound produced by Starship's launch and recovery was incredibly loud, reaching approximately 105 dBA at 10 kilometers.
The noise produced during a Starship launch is estimated to be at least ten times greater than that of the Falcon 9 and four to six times louder than NASA's Space Launch System.
