<ul data-eligibleForWebStory="false"><li>Mecanoo’s Doris Duke Theater has officially opened at Jacob’s Pillow in Massachusetts, replacing the original studio theater destroyed by fire in 2020 with a flexible, high-tech space for both live and digitally augmented performances.</li><li>The project combines a mass timber structure with advanced technical infrastructure, accommodating up to 400 audience members and supporting various performance staging formats.</li><li>Designed in collaboration with Marvel and theater consultants Charcoalblue, the theater grounds itself in the Berkshire landscape with thermally treated pine cladding, rainwater collection systems, and a deep veranda that adds to its character.</li><li>Surrounding landscape interventions by Marvel, in partnership with Indigenous artists, enhance the engagement with the site, offering new spaces for reflection and interaction for visitors.</li></ul>
