Akriti Chopra, co-founder of Zomato, has become an inspiration for women in India by rising from an employee to one of the company’s top executives.
Chopra graduated from Lady Shri Ram College and started her career as an articled assistant at PwC before joining Zomato in 2011 as senior manager of finance & operations.
Chopra played a crucial role in establishing and scaling Zomato’s financials and later became the company’s Chief People Officer and Chief Financial Officer.
After Zomato’s IPO in 2021, the value of the employee stock ownership plan held by Chopra was valued at Rs 149 crore, placing her among the company's top shareholders.
