President Donald Trump is considering Kevin Warsh, a former Fed governor, to replace Jerome Powell as the Chair of the Federal Reserve, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Trump has expressed his dissatisfaction with Powell's performance and has discussed ousting him before his term ends in 2026.
Warsh, a former Morgan Stanley banker, served as an economic advisor to President George W. Bush and was previously considered for Treasury Secretary by Trump.
Warsh has advised against prematurely firing Powell and has not expressed whether he wants the job or not.
