Arjun Deshpande, founder of Generic Aadhaar, has launched the 'Stree Shakti – A No-Profit Initiative' to provide free sanitary pads in rural Maharashtra.
The initiative aims to address menstrual health disparities in underserved districts and targets areas with low sanitary napkin usage due to affordability and cultural barriers.
Inspired by Ratan Tata's vision, the project offers low-cost sanitary pads and involves door-to-door campaigns for direct distribution to women and girls.
The initiative, dubbed as the 'Real Padman of India,' plans to expand to other states and collaborate with local NGOs to promote menstrual hygiene awareness.
