Meta recently acquired over 1 gigawatt of renewable energy capacity to power its data centers, adding to its existing renewable portfolio.
The acquisitions include 791 megawatts of solar and wind power in Ohio, Arkansas, and Texas, as well as the environmental attributes of two solar farms in Texas totaling 360 megawatts.
These projects are expected to be operational between 2027 and 2028, strengthening Meta's renewable energy commitment.
The move comes amidst ongoing efforts to promote renewables, particularly solar power, as data centers seek efficient and sustainable energy solutions.
