Meta Platforms Inc. has signed a 20-year deal with Constellation Energy Corp. to purchase nuclear power.
Constellation Energy Corp. won a similar contract from Microsoft Corp. last September to reopen a nuclear power plant in Pennsylvania.
Meta will buy 1,121 megawatts of nuclear energy from Constellation, generated at the Clinton Clean Energy Center in southern Illinois.
The agreement will support Meta's AI ambitions and energy requirements for its data centers, while creating jobs and boosting power output at the facility.
