Meta is reorganizing its generative artificial intelligence team to accelerate product rollouts amidst a competitive AI landscape.
The team will be split into two groups - one focusing on products led by Connor Hayes, and the other, AGI Foundations, co-led by Ahmad Al-Dahle and Amir Frenkel.
The reorganization aims to streamline operations and enhance Meta's competitiveness in the AI industry, with product team overseeing practical AI applications and AGI team handling large language models.
No employees were fired in the reorganization, and Meta is increasing its investment in AI infrastructure, planning to deploy 1.3 million GPUs by 2025.
