Meta Platforms is unlikely to make further changes to its pay-or-consent model in the European Union, which could result in large daily fines under the new Digital Markets Act (DMA).
The European Commission warned that Meta could face substantial daily fines if it refuses to take further action in compliance with the DMA.
If Meta does not make additional changes as required, the Commission may impose daily fines of up to 5 percent of Meta's global turnover under the DMA regulations.
Despite Meta's confidence in its current offerings and compliance with the DMA, the company may still be at risk of facing fines for non-compliance with EU regulations.
