Joelle Pineau, Vice President of AI Research at Meta, is set to leave the company after eight years.
Pineau announced her departure in a LinkedIn post, expressing her gratitude for the experience and the goal of solving AI and open-sourcing research.
The company is yet to name a replacement but has begun the search for a successor.
Pineau has led the Meta's Fundamental AI Research group and oversaw research in various areas such as voice translation, image recognition, and Meta's open-source large language model.
