Chinese carmaker MG is set to bring more electric vehicle (EV) models to Australia under the new brand IM Presented by MG Motor.
IM Motors, a joint venture between SAIC Motor, Alibaba Group, and Zhangjiang Hi-Tech, will exclusively sell EVs in Australia through MG's existing dealership network.
The two EV models confirmed for the 2025 launch are the IM5 sedan and the IM6 SUV, with the IM6 having a greater potential in the Australian market as SUVs are preferred.
The IM6 offers a range of features including powerful outputs of up to 579kW and 800Nm, and a claimed 0-100km/h sprint time of 3.48 seconds in dual-motor all-wheel drive configuration.
