The European Commission has been actively addressing antitrust issues in the tech industry, prompting Microsoft to make changes to avoid fines.
Microsoft had faced an antitrust probe over the bundling of Teams and Microsoft 365, leading to unbundling attempts in the EU that were deemed insufficient by the EC.
In response, Microsoft has offered new commitments such as continuing to offer its productivity suites without Teams in the EEA for at least seven years, setting price differentials, and enhancing interoperability.
The EC is currently seeking feedback on Microsoft's proposed commitments to determine if they align with EU antitrust regulations.
