Microsoft is laying off as many as 9,100 employees, approximately four percent of its workforce, in a new round of cuts.
Layoffs are impacting Microsoft's Xbox division, the owned King division (maker of Candy Crush), and other European units like Zenimax.
These layoffs follow previous job cuts that included employees from Activision Blizzard, various game studios, and the HoloLens and Azure cloud teams.
Xbox boss Phil Spencer shared a message emphasizing the need to prioritize strategic growth areas while ensuring support for impacted employees through severance benefits and job placement resources.
