Microsoft has added another 389 megawatts of renewable power to its portfolio as the tech giant aims to meet the power demands for its AI ambitions.
The additional renewable power comes from three solar projects developed by EDP Renewables and will be used to power Microsoft's operations and cover demand elsewhere.
Microsoft contracts nearly 20 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity, and this purchase adds around 2% to that tally.
In addition to renewable energy, Microsoft is also investing in various forms of carbon removal to become carbon negative by 2030.
