Microsoft trained an AI to play (and maybe develop) games

  • Microsoft has developed an AI called Muse, part of the World and Human Action Model (WHAM), capable of generating game visuals and controller actions.
  • Muse has a detailed understanding of the 3D game world, including game physics and player controller actions, allowing it to create consistent and diverse gameplay rendered by AI.
  • The AI could potentially optimize or even rebuild older games that are no longer playable on modern hardware, as well as create new content for existing games.
  • Microsoft embraces responsible AI with a commitment to six principles: fairness, reliability and safety, privacy and security, inclusiveness, transparency, and accountability.
