Microsoft unveiled ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X at the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, in collaboration with ASUS, aiming to compete with Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch 2.
ROG Xbox Ally is for budget-conscious gamers, while the Ally X targets enthusiasts, both featuring a 7-inch Full HD display, Xbox-style design, and AMD Ryzen processors.
Key features include a unified gaming ecosystem, Xbox-inspired controller design, AMD Ryzen Z2A chip in standard model, and Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme in Ally X.
The handheld consoles run Windows 11 Home with Xbox-like interface, offer access to various game platforms, and will launch in Q4 2025 across 30+ countries.
