<ul><li>Doctors often face administrative burdens that contribute to burnout, according to Scott Smitherman, an internal medicine doctor and chief medical information officer at Providence.</li><li>To help ease the burden, Smitherman has been testing an app called Dragon Ambient eXperience (DAX) that uses AI to generate medical notes for patient interactions.</li><li>While many doctors using DAX like it, there has been resistance to change and reluctance to give up control of note-writing.</li><li>Microsoft and Nuance plan to roll out a fully automated version of DAX this summer that incorporates GPT-4, which is expected to scale faster than the previous version.</li></ul>
