Microsoft’s Satya Nadella finally tells us why the company joined hands with OpenAI for big AI push

  • Microsoft's partnership with OpenAI for a big AI push has been revealed by CEO Satya Nadella. In a recent podcast, Nadella explained, "I met folks at OpenAI – Sam (Altman) and Greg (Brockman) – [and of the things they had] was that they have a different approach to things and we wanted to partner."
  • He also lauded OpenAI as "one of the high ambition technology innovation companies," positioning Microsoft strongly against AI giants.
  • With an investment of $10 billion, mostly in hardware support, Nadella believes in OpenAI's potential, stating, "His company is reaping the benefits of the punt."
