Microsoft has launched a new Surface Pro tablet with a 12-inch display and several design changes compared to the larger Surface Pro 11.
The Surface Pro 12-inch is an Arm-powered device, succeeding the smaller Surface Go tablet.
Priced at $799, it features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Plus 8-core chip, 16GB RAM, and 256GB storage.
The device offers around 12 hours of battery life during active web usage.
A separate $149.99 keyboard is required, along with a model offering 512GB storage at $899.
The Surface Pro 12-inch sports a 12-inch LCD display with a resolution of 2196 x 1464, 90Hz panel, and no OLED option.
Microsoft employs a fan-less design for cooling, and a redesigned, flat keyboard with a different connector.
The new Surface Pen can be purchased separately and attached to the rear of the device for charging.
The device features USB-C ports, lacks the Surface Connect port, and includes a 1080p front-facing camera and a repositioned 10-megapixel rear-facing camera.
The Surface Pro 12-inch is available for preorder starting at $799 and will be released on May 20th for consumers.
