Milan's Olympic Village nears completion in Porta Romana, designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), to host over 1,300 athletes during the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.
After the Games, the village will be transformed into Italy's largest publicly supported student housing complex, offering 1,700 beds, with 30% at subsidized rates to address the city's housing needs.
The sustainable Olympic Village, certified LEED Gold, features climate-conscious design with zero operational emissions and prefabricated timber facade panels, promoting environmental sustainability.
Supported by institutional stakeholders, the project aligns with Milan's municipal housing strategies and promotes long-term social infrastructure development beyond the Olympic event.
