WhatsApp has urged users to update after fixing a security flaw that affects older versions of WhatsApp Desktop for Windows PCs.
The bug, named CVE-2025-30401, makes computers vulnerable to 'spoofing' by cyber crooks disguising malware as image files, which can be opened by unsuspecting users.
The flaw allowed attackers to execute code and gain control over the device, stealing passwords and disabling security measures.
Users are advised to update WhatsApp for Windows to version 2.2450.6 or later to protect their personal data.
