French AI startup Mistral released an open-source model named Devstral, trained to solve coding-related tasks and real-world engineering problems.
Devstral outperformed other open-source AI models on the SWE-Bench Verified benchmark, scoring 46.8%, including surpassing OpenAI's GPT-4.1 Mini and Claude 3.5 Haiku.
Mistral highlighted that Devstral can run on a single RTX 4090 or a Mac with 32GB RAM for local deployment and on-device use.
Mistral also announced a partnership with G42, focusing on developing next-generation AI platforms and infrastructure and collaborating with MBZUAI for research and development in AI.
