Mitsubishi will launch a new electric vehicle in North America next summer based on Nissan’s upcoming third-generation Leaf as part of their growth plan 'Momentum 2030'.
The new EV will use the CMF-EV platform, like the new Leaf, and is expected to have a range of up to 304 miles on a single charge.
Mitsubishi's CEO mentioned the company's positive sales trajectory in the US and the new EV will be part of a lineup offering internal combustion, plug-in hybrids, and electric vehicles.
The production location of the new EV is yet to be announced, with considerations to potentially avoid heavy tariffs by implementing a domestic manufacturing plan.
