Two Los Angeles-based moms, Dr. Anndretta Lyle and Stacy Kirk, have collaborated to launch Thrive Culture Box, a monthly subscription service that aims to help children and families explore Black culture.
Thrive Culture Box delivers a monthly activity box accompanied by instructional videos and lessons, focusing on different aspects of Black culture. The debut series is centered around Black inventors.
Dr. Lyle, a Black Studies educator, wanted to provide more than just digital learning, allowing children to use their hands and exercise creativity with physical materials in the educational process.
The initiative was born from the success of Dr. Lyle's Black Arts and Performance Summer Day Camp, with the aim of providing a scalable solution to meet the growing demand for cultural education.
